My Winter Wonderland

It's no secret that I dislike the cold and it's no secret that I love christmas. So, that means that from now until January 1st I ADORE the snow. Since I love all things christmas and festive snow is part of that package, and who doesn't want a white christmas. With the coming of our first real snow fall of the year, I immediately got into the christmas spirit and wanted to enjoy and embrace the weather.

All  last year I kept saying that the one thing Edmonton was missing were some woods for me to go and explore. Then a few weeks ago we discovered Rainbow Valley Park about 30 minutes away from us and my world changed. It's a great place to go walking and when it started snowing yesterday we had to go. We invited our bestie Naomi and her son Maxx to venture into the woods and go exploring!

It was cold, magical and ever so dreamy. The snow was fluttering down on us and It was perfect, except for one little thing. Spiders... I don't know what was up but tons of baby spiders where floating down from the trees dangling in your face. I almost ran into about 6 spiders. That's 6 too many. I'm trying to put the spiders out of my mind because everything else was simply wonderful.

We came home that night, made chilli to warm up, listened to christmas music, put up our tree and decorated together. We ended the evening watching Narnia, it only seemed fitting since I felt like we spent the day in Narnia.

It really was so beautiful and I couldn't be happier to be getting into the christmas spirit.

  1. I like this. A lot. You make me smile. And remember - the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear. :)
