My Ode to the Spider Who Once Was

Yesterday i killed a spider.

I smashed it in the pages of my Bible.

Today i showed my roommate the residue,

forever marked in my Bible.

I don't know what emotions i should be feeling.

Shame, guilt...pride.

Spider i won't easily be forgetting you,

I will think of you often,

or at least when i read John 12-13
